National Sea Rescue Institute’s rescue stations are manned by over 1300 volunteers who are on call 24/7, ready to respond to water-related emergencies. They have a core staff operating from their Head Office in Cape Town, and a number of full and part-time water-safety educators, marketers, lifeguards and call-centre staff working off site.
As an organisation, they are committed to transparency, transformation, diversity and sustainability in everything they do. They are agile in their approach to change, offer a professional service, and remain ahead of the curve when it comes to providing their volunteers with world-class training and the latest equipment available to support their life-saving work.
The Fish Hoek Beach Sports Club is a busy, friendly community whose members surf ski, SUP and sail Hobies. Situated right behind the dunes on Fish Hoek Beach, the Club has warm showers, bar and kitchen facilities. It is run by an elected, volunteer committee and is entirely non-profit with all proceeds from fees going back into club maintenance and development.
Since 1958 Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club has been an iconic institution of the Fish Hoek community through its volunteering services throughout the summer.
Fish Hoek is one of the strongest competing clubs in the country and known around the world for producing world class athletes especially in surf ski paddling.
